The Handmaid's Tale
This is a title sequence for Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale". I made this in collaboration with Francisco Betancourt, Elise Dyck, Leah Evans, Veró Gómez, Alvin Martinez, and Anastasia Skrebneva. This project was definitely a step out of my comfort zone; with most of it being live action shooting and compositing, I definitely learned a lot from my teammates during the process.
The concept behind this title sequence was to show the manipulation of a flower as it is growing, meaning to mimic how the Handmaid's are controlled in the show. Flowers are a symbol of fertility, and the show revolves around the Handmaid's and their ability to have children. In addition to the flower, we incorporated symbols of marriage and religion, speaking to that other aspect that is prevalent within the society in the show.
